Upper Lachlan Planning & Development


The Environment and Planning Department of Council controls all planning and development within the Shire.

The Department is staffed by 13 Officers  

  • Director of Environment and Planning
  • 2 Senior Environmental Health and Building Surveyors
  • Senior Strategic Planner 
  • Environmental Services Officer
  • Environmental Services Assistants (2)
  • Economic Development Officer
  • Noxious Weeds Manager 
  • 3 Noxious Weeds Officers and a 
  • Ranger

The Functions of the Environment and Planning Department include:

  • Assessing Development Applications for Building, Subdivsion and Change of Use
  • Development and Building Compliance
  • Strategic Planning
  • Heritage
  • Complaint Investigation
  • On-Site Sewerage Management Applications

  • Office Hours:  Council office hours are 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

      Please note that Environment and Planning staff are only available at Taralga by appointment.
