Environmental Services


The Environment and Planning Department of Upper Lachlan Shire Council controls all Planning and Development within the shire. It covers many functions relating to Planning, Environment and Health. The Department is staffed by 13 Officers.

  • Director of Environment and Planning 
  • Senior Health & Building Surveyors (2) 
  • Strategic Planner
  • Environmental Services Officer
  • Environmental Services Assistants (2)
  • Economic Development Officer
  • Noxious Weeds Manager
  • 3 Noxious Weeds Officers and a
  • Ranger

Functions Carried out by the Department include:

Environmental

  • Ranger Services, including Companion Animals
  • Noxious Weeds
  • Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997
  • State of the Environment Reporting
  • Community Education and Awareness

Planning and Development

  • Development Applications for Buildings, Subdivision and Change of Use 
  • Development and Building Compliance Inspections
  • Strategic Planning
  • On-site Wastewater Management System Applications

Health

  • Complaint Investigation
  • Drinking Water Quality Monitoring
  • Food Shops
  • On-site Sewer Management
